What types of clients do you work with?
We work with a diverse group of clients, including individuals going through relationship transitions (e.g., separation, divorce), those experiencing acute crises such as self-harm, suicidality, and substance use, as well as LGBTQ+ clients. Our services also focus on supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, and couples working through communication issues, affairs, or becoming parents.

What can I expect from the first session?
For new clients, we begin with a 15-minute phone call to get to know you and determine if our services are the right fit. Afterward, all appointments can be managed through the Jane App. The first few therapy sessions are typically scheduled once a week for the first 3-4 weeks, then adjusted based on your needs.

How does the Jane App work?
The Jane App is a secure, easy-to-use platform for managing your appointments. You can download it on your phone, making it simple to schedule or reschedule sessions on the go. The Jane App adheres to P-HIPAA security standards, ensuring your information is encrypted and safe. After your initial phone consultation, all bookings will be handled through the app, and existing clients can manage their appointments directly with ease.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes, we provide virtual therapy through the Jane App, which meets P-HIPAA security standards, ensuring that your sessions are private and secure. Virtual therapy gives you the flexibility to attend sessions from home or another safe space. For your session, make sure you are in a comfortable, private environment, preferably in a room where you won’t be disturbed. Having background noise or music can also help ensure that no one overhears your session.
Where should I take my virtual therapy session?
It’s important to find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable and safe to talk. We recommend scheduling your session when no one else is home or using background music to ensure privacy. Virtual sessions should be taken from a secure, stable location, like your home office or a private room. Please avoid taking sessions in your car, as it can be distracting and uncomfortable, especially if it’s cold or you’re in a public space.
How do you approach anxiety and depression?
We use a blend of skills-based techniques (e.g., concrete steps to manage anxiety) and narrative therapy to explore your relationship with anxiety or depression. Our goal is to help you reduce the impact of these conditions on your daily life and identify strategies that fit your unique situation.
What is your approach to substance use?
We offer both abstinence-based and harm reduction approaches, tailored to the individual’s goals. For families affected by substance use, we also provide support to help them set healthy boundaries and cope with their loved one’s struggles.
Do you offer services for couples?
Yes, we specialize in couples therapy. We primarily use Gottman therapy and narrative therapy approaches, tailoring the therapy to the couple’s needs. Gottman therapy is structured and science-based, while narrative therapy focuses on understanding each partner’s perspective.
How soon can I book an appointment?
After the initial phone consultation, we aim to get new clients booked for their first session as soon as possible. Ongoing sessions can be easily managed through the Jane App.
